A little goes a long way: 8 to 10 grams (.2 oz to .4 oz) is enough for one tomato plant for the growing season.
Made of a LOCAL product currently considered waste, or of nominal value.
Trial data from studies conducted from 2019 to 2021 on multiple farms in Vermont, with varying soils and micro-climates, showed that broccoli, spinach, tomatoes and flowers grown using wool pellet fertilizer grew as well or better than other common fertilizers.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Wool pellets should be incorporated into the soil. This can be done by:
1) Sprinkling pellets into a planting hole, mixed with existing soil, and lightly water before setting a seed or a plant into the hole.
2) Sprinkling pellets along a bed in preparation before planting, turning into the soil, and lightly watering before planting.
Application Amounts
1 tsp in hole for planting seeds
1 Tablespoon = 10 gms. Enough for 1 tomato, cucumber, pepper etc. plant - for 6 to 10 months.
1 Cup approx 200 gms = Enough for 10 Sq Ft.
A little goes a long way! Watering in after planting will cause the pellets to swell, and the soil biology starts the decomposition of the pellets, and release of the nutrients. However, “over application” will not harm plants as the material slowly breaks down and dissolves into the soil.
Keep pellets in a cool, dry place, in a sealed container - denying access to both moisture and moths!
